Bullpen and Barros Lock Down Paddleheads in 7-4 Win
Flathead Valley, MT. – The Glacier Range Riders (10-12) reached double-digits in the win column on Saturday night, as they suffocated the Missoula Paddlehead (13-9) batters in all but one inning en route to a 7-4 win at Flathead Field. Noah Barros picked up the win after throwing the first five innings scoreless, while the bullpen allowed no runs in the final three innings. Vinny Bologna provided one of the most exciting offensive plays of the night when he hammered a two-run homer over the left field fence.
Barros was absolutely dominant on the mound in the first five innings, allowing no runs on just four hits and seven strikeouts in that time. His offense was able to build him a lead as well, with a passed ball run and a sac fly making it 2-0 in the first, and that Bologna home run making it 4-0 in the third. The lead got even bigger in the bottom of the fifth, when Luis Trevino picked up his first Glacier RBI on a single.
The Paddleheads finally touched up Barros in the sixth for four runs, three unearned. The bullpen closed out the game with scoreless innings from John Beuckelaere and Tyler Solomon before Austin Steinfort blanked the Paddleheads in the final frame to get the save.
Insurance was given to the Range Riders in the bottom of the sixth when Brandt Broussard scored on an error and Livingston Morris scored on a wild pitch. In the end, that three run lead would be all the Range Riders need to pull off the victory.
The Range Riders and the Paddleheads finish their series with a Father's Day matinee at Flathead Field, first pitch being at 3:05 on Sunday, June 19th. Tickets are available at: https://ridgerunbaseball.ticketsocket.com/#/event-list
