IDAHO FALLS, ID. - TJ Clarkson launched a second-inning grand slam and finished with three hits and four RBIs to lead the Glacier Range Riders past the Idaho Falls Chukars, 11-8, on Wednesday night at Melaleuca Field.
The victory marked Glacier's third straight win and another explosive night at the plate, as the offense piled up 15 hits. Jake Millan continued his strong start to professional baseball, notching a two RBI double in just his second career outing. Logan Beard also tallied a multi-hit effort, while Jack Lynch went 4-for-5 with a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth.
Idaho Falls jumped out early with a pair of first-inning runs on a Grady Morgan RBI single and a Benjamin Rosengard sacrifice fly. After Clarkson's grand slam made it 4-2, the Chukars tied the game in the fourth, but the Range Riders surged back ahead in the sixth and never trailed again.
Luke Schafer earned the win, allowing four runs on six hits over five innings. Nick Zegna picked up the save, and Jason Franks contributed a scoreless inning in relief.
Idaho Falls managed 12 hits of their own, including four from Simon Baumgardt. Despite drawing eight walks, the Chukars couldn't overcome the early deficit sparked by Clarkson's big fly.
The Range Riders will look to keep the momentum rolling as the series continues Thursday in Idaho Falls.
