Taylor Shoves, Clarkson Slams, Range Riders Win Season Finale
Idaho Falls, ID – The Glacier Range Riders finished the 2025 season on a high note, toppling the Idaho Falls Chukars by a score of 11-6 at Melaleuca Field. Grant Taylor finished out his phenomenal 2025 campaign with another stellar start, while TJ Clarkson hit his second grand slam of the season (both in Idaho Falls) in the victory.
The Chukars drew first blood with an early two-run homer in the bottom of the first, but Glacier would bounce right back with a two-spot in the second thanks to an RBI single from Carson Garner and Donovan Ratfield with a run-scoring single to right field.
It was deadlocked through the third before one of Glacier's most explosive innings of the season in the top of the fourth. The initial three batters reached in the inning, before Kyle Ashworth drew a bases loaded walk to put the Range Riders in front. The following at-bat, Clarkson absolutely obliterated a baseball beyond right field and that made it 7-2 Glacier. A Logan Beard walk was scored when Jack Lynch struck a double, and Kingston Liniak knocked a single to push across Lynch. The seven-run frame was one of the biggest innings of the season for the Range Riders.
Grant Taylor finished a strong start on the mound with 6.2 innings, to go with 10 strikeouts and zero walks. Davis Pratt threw 1.1 frames scoreless, before third-year Range Rider Nick Zegna finished it off in the ninth. Clarkson tacked on another run with a sac fly in the seventh, while Ratfield had a double in the eighth to score a run. Gabe Howell finished the night 4-for-5 with three runs scored.
The win brings the 2025 season to a close with the Range Riders missing out on a playoff berth. In nine games against the playoff bound Chukars this season, all in Idaho Falls, the Range Riders were 6-3.
